The Amesbury Carriage Museum Organization was formed in 1986 to pro-mote the preservation of Amesbury's historic carriages and to educate the public about the carriage era. A building in the Lower Millyard has recently been purchased and is in the process of becoming a museum. Fundraising efforts continue with the goal of opening a museum worthy of these treasures.
